WHEN LIFE HAPPENS Part 1: THE CONSTANT
WHEN LIFE HAPPENS
Part 1: THE CONSTANT
In the equation of life, change remains a constant; a fixed value that’s never altered by the alternating variables around it. In fact, all variables dance to the tune of the constant in any equation they find themselves. Irrespective of the length of the equation, no matter how long it takes to get the equation solved, the constant remains unmoved. Every equation is a process targeted towards achieving a desired result, it’s either you cooperate with the constant to attain the desired result, or you sideline the constant and ditch your desired result. The desired result can never be attained without cooperating with the constant of the equation, and such is life.
Life is an equation, a process driving towards a result. However, life has a constant in its equation and that constant is called “Change.” Change is no respecter of status, it doesn’t care if you’re wealthy or not, it has no gender preference, it pays no attention to your height, it gives no credit to the lineage you hail from, it tosses no preferential treatment to abilities and disabilities, it gives no stare at the look you wear. The popular saying “Beauty is in the eye of the beholder” makes no sense to change because as far as it’s concerned, everyone wears the same status and that status is called “Being Human.”
So far you’re human, the constant of life called “Change” will pay you several visits at different points of your life, and those visitations are what I refer to as “When Life Happens.” Since change is a constant in life, when those changes stroll into or barge into our lives, I see them as “Life Happening.”
What is Change?
A transition from one state to another is said to be a “Change.” A process that initiates a difference in the life of a man is a change.
If asked to categorize change in two forms, many would categorize it as “Positive (Good) and Negative (Bad) changes. However, I have a different perspective to categorize changes which I’ll discuss in part 2 of this blog post.
No one can escape change, it will surely come. What distinguishes individuals is how they respond to change.
To be continued.
